About
About The Organic Sleep Guide
The Organic Sleep Guide is an independent comparison site about organic and latex mattresses. It's here for one job: to put the verifiable facts about a small set of mattresses in one place, in plain language, so you can compare them without opening fifteen sales pages.
Method
How the comparisons are built
- Every price, trial length, warranty term, height, firmness rating and certification in my guides is taken from the brand's own website on the date shown on the page. Where a guide explains a certification or a latex process, the definition comes from that standard's own website, dated the same way.
- I don't take figures from review sites, directories or search snippets. Where a brand's page doesn't label a figure in a way I can verify, I'll say so and leave the figure out rather than borrow it.
- I check every figure against the brand's own pages, and I publish the price, trial and warranty terms as the brand states them.
- Firmness ratings and statements about which sleeper a model suits are each brand's own published positioning. I report them as positioning. I have not been sent mattresses and I don't present construction analysis as hands on testing.
- Prices move with sales. A figure on this site is a checked snapshot, not a promise. The price that counts is the one at the brand's checkout on the day you buy.
Money
How this site earns money
This site earns affiliate commissions when you buy through a link here. That's its only planned income. Commissions don't cost you anything extra.
Because commissions can distort a guide, I publish the rates I can verify. PlushBeds states a 15 percent payout with a 90 day credit window on its own partner page, the highest rate among the brands compared here, and PlushBeds is covered in the most depth on this site. That relationship is disclosed on the pages where it matters, including the comparison and the review, so you can discount my enthusiasm by exactly the right amount. Avocado states on its partner page that its commission rates vary by partner and that its tracking window is 120 days. Where a brand doesn't publish a rate, I don't guess one.
A ranking on this site has to be defensible on the published facts: materials, certifications, price, trial and warranty. If I can't defend a pick on those, it doesn't lead a guide, whatever it pays.

Corrections
Facts on brand pages change, and I'll get things wrong sometimes. If you spot a figure here that no longer matches the brand's own page, tell me through the contact page and I'll check it against the source and correct the page.
