Organic latex mattresses by starting price: what the lowest figures really buy

If you're hunting for the lowest way in, that's the Birch Natural, at $1,030 to $1,965 across sizes. The Avocado Green starts from $1,119. Both are certified organic latex hybrids, and both give you a long trial.

Here's the catch: starting prices aren't really like for like. Some brands show a range across sizes, some show a starting price that rises with size and feel, and some show a Queen price. The table below tells you which is which, so you're comparing the size you'd actually buy.

How to read this table

Only the PlushBeds and Naturepedic figures are Queen prices. The Birch range covers all sizes, and the Avocado and Saatva figures are starting prices. Prices move with sales, so the price that counts is the one at the brand's checkout on the day you buy.

In detail

The two lowest entry prices

Our pick

Birch Natural, the lowest entry price

  • 365 night trial
  • Limited lifetime warranty
  • One medium firm feel
  • Who it is forYou're after the lowest entry price and you still want long terms.
  • Who it is not forYou're a side sleeper who knows you need a soft surface.
  • Worth knowingIt comes in one medium firm feel, so there's no softer option to pick.

Birch is Helix Sleep's natural brand, and the Natural is its straightforward medium firm hybrid: an organic cotton cover, GOLS certified organic latex from Sri Lanka, organic New Zealand wool and individually wrapped steel coils, assembled in Arizona. The certifications listed on Birch's own pages are GOLS and GREENGUARD Gold. And that price range shown on its product page, $1,030 to $1,965 across sizes, is the lowest entry point in our comparison.

For the price, the terms are strong: you'll get a 365 night trial, with a $99 removal fee on returns, and a limited lifetime warranty.

Avocado Green Mattress, from $1,119

  • 1 year trial, returns after 30 days
  • 25 year limited warranty
  • Firm, Medium or Plush
  • Who it is forYou want the deepest certification list and a full year to decide.
  • Who it is not forYou're set on an all latex build with no coils.
  • Worth knowingReturns open after 30 days, and a return carries a $99 fee.

Avocado's whole argument is certification depth, and it's a strong one. The Green Mattress is certified organic at the finished product level under GOTS, and the brand lists five further standards for the whole mattress, including OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, EWG Verified, MADE SAFE, GREENGUARD Gold and UL Formaldehyde Free. The latex is GOLS certified organic Dunlop over up to 1,379 individually wrapped coils in seven zones, needle tufted by hand in California.

The Medium feel carries 3 inches of latex at 11 inches high, and it's the brand's most popular. Plush carries 5 inches at 13 inches high and it's positioned for side sleepers. Firm carries 2 inches at 11.5 inches. You'll get a full year for the trial, with a $99 return fee, and the warranty runs 25 years with the first 10 non prorated.

Before you buy

Questions buyers ask

Which organic latex mattress here is cheapest?

It's the Birch Natural. It's got the lowest entry point in our comparison, at $1,030 to $1,965 across sizes.

Why not compare Queen prices for all five?

Not every brand's page labelled a Queen price in a form we could tie to a size and feel. Where it didn't, we've used the verified starting price or range instead of a figure from a review site. That's a little less tidy, but it's more honest.

Do the cheaper beds have shorter trials?

No, they don't. Birch gives you 365 nights and Avocado gives you 1 year, and those are the longest terms in our comparison alongside Saatva.

Are these prices current?

They're the prices shown on each brand's own website on November 5, 2026. Prices move with sales, and the Naturepedic Queen price of $3,679.20 was a sale price at the time of checking. The price that counts is the one at the brand's checkout on the day you buy.

The short version

Our pick for value: Birch Natural

If it were my money and value came first, I'd start here: it's the lowest entry price in our comparison, with a 365 night trial and a limited lifetime warranty, in one medium firm feel. If you need a softer feel or more certifications, the Avocado Green starts from $1,119.
